Hey, I'm that guy who makes the Luminaries. Um, these papers say my name's David Dees, so yeah, go with that. I'm an illustrator, webhead, general geek, and all around art bum. Got a BA in Art in 2008, minor in Interdisciplinary Studies (Honors College, UCA). At the moment, I'm just "freelance". I do everything from traditional printmaking and media to digital illustration to graphic design and color theory. Oh, I also have some museum studies training and really like doing anything in that field too. If I had the time/money, I'd be back in school right now for some specialization in art restoration. Q&A "I would like to commission you." or "I am an employer/publisher who would like to contact you." Sounds great to me! Email me in either case. Resume/portfolio available upon request. Commissioners, I promise I'm not really expensive and I'm actually rather nice. "What do I get if I vote for the comic?" I normally post the next page's storyboard in two halves between the voting websites so you can get a sneak peek and behind the scenes stuff! I think that's cool. Now, since updates are taking a little while, I post other bonus things a few days after a new page is up. So you get lots of goodies, and you're really helping me out. You can vote here for the first bonus. And here for the second one. "Would you make some Luminaries merchandise?" Well I WILL be publishing the books, definitely. I have half the first one in my hand right now. But if you'd like to see buttons, t-shirts, prints, or various other items... I'd like that, honestly! So shoot me an email or go to the forum and tell me! If enough people start wanting them, I can actually make them! "Why don't you update more frequently?" The pages take a long time and I don't get any feedback from people I don't already know. I'll keep doing it, probably for the rest of my life or until it's all done, but really... some feedback would be nice, if you don't mind. "Hey, I'd like to ask questions or share my theories about the Luminaries!" That's great! I like answering questions! Use the email button above or go to the forum! I check them both a lot! "Why did you make this comic?" ...Because I miss my grandpa. He died in 1998. Thank you for reading it. David Dees is © to his mother, though the strange fellow he's become was partially his own artistic creation.
